The least expensive way to make your own front end loader hay spikes is to purchase a set of hay spikes and tapered weld in sleeves from Fred Hopkins WA. The spikes are available in different lengths (810 to 1240mm useable length) and in three different diameters or carrying capacities referred to as Conus 1, Conus II and Conus III with III being the heaviest capacity style. The tapered bush, when welded into an RHS frame are tightened up on themselves with a fine thread nut.
